W e have developed a number of autonomous outgrower hubs capable of supplying Sunflower grains that satisfies the company’s stringent quality controls. Many small and medium sized farmers have partnered with us and organised themselves at a village level.
As an integral part of the technical services offered to them, including training in Sunflower agriculture and access to equipment and agricultural inputs, the outgrowers are taught to value their own Sunflower crops and apply best practices helping them to realise their own potential.
A great help for the communities Sule’s impact on the organisational, social and agronomic capacity of the village outgrowers is already visible. Since 2021, Sule brought on board several partner-farmers, currently representing 25 outgrower communities encompassing 358 individual outgrowers. Sule has offered them a fair and stable market price, guaranteed to be locally competitive.
Sule allows their outgrower farmers the opportunity to improve both their production standards and productivity by pairing traditional practices with modern farming processes for quality control. Each partnership is established with a respect for the particularities of the specific local agronomic and social circumstances in mind.
This outgrower program has seen a significant improvement in the standard of living of the farmers where by there is access to market for their grains hence giving them money in return to support their livelihood.
We still seek development partners who would like to collaborate with us to further the outreach program to support as many smallholder farmers as possible, to create an impact in the standard of living by improving the income of women, youth and other groups of smallholder farmers in Uganda.
